Lance Carter of Westside & Warren Trahan of Dickinson Honored as Texans HS Coaches Of The Week - September 25, 2006
HOUSTON- This week's Houston Texans 5A Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Lance Carter of Westside High School. Carter's Wolves (2-1) beat Elsik 43-42 with their second late comeback in as many games. Westside Quarterback Michael Goodnight threw for two scores and had a pair of rushing touchdowns, including one with 28 seconds left on the clock, setting up the game-winning two-point conversion.
This week's Houston Texans 4A-under Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Warren Trahan of Dickinson High School. Coach Trahan's Gators (4-0) downed 5A Bellaire 21-16 for their fourth consecutive win. Dickinson Quarterback Brody Trahan contributed 312 all-purpose yards and three touchdown passes.
Westside High School and Dickinson High School will each receive a $500 grant in their coach's name for winning the Texans Coach of the Week Award. Also, each coach will be recognized on HoustonTexans.com and NFLHS.com, and on the video board at Reliant Stadium. Coach Carter and Coach Trahan will also be invited to the Texans vs. Titans game on December 10 and will be recognized at the Houston Football Dinner alongside Texans players.
